Guest ServicesParking & Transportation Business Facilities History of the Dyffryn CastellDYFFRYN means VALLEY, and CASTELL Is the name of the stream that runs down at the bottom of the car park. The Dyffryn Castell is over 400 years old -it was originally a Coaching Inn, a place where the Horses that pulled the Mall Coach between London and Aberystwyth were changed. The old stables have by now been pulled down, and converted to what Is today our Beer Garden. Anne was born and bought up next door; the Hotel was originally owned by her Grandparents, who sold it after the second world war. In October 1996 we had the fortunate opportunity to buy the hotel back into the family, and we moved to the Dyffryn just two miles down the valley from the family farm, where our sons produce nearly all of the Lamb and Pork used on our Sunday Lunch Menu.
Now that you now a little about the history of the Hotel and your hosts, we hope that you will have a very pleasant and comfortable stay with us here at the DYFFRYN CASTELL in the beautiful Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales.
